Grant Writing Next Steps: A Hands-On Proposal Workshop for Faculty
April 12, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Often grant writers wish that they could get more hands on experience in drafting and revising their proposals. This workshop answers that need by inviting faculty to bring a one-page Statement of Aims/Project Description draft to work on during the workshop.
We will focus on:
- What should be in the initial pages of a grant to keep a reviewer reading
- How to revise a grant
- What kind of feedback to ask from collaborators and mentors
- Top 5 mistakes even experienced grant writers make
- Examples of how and why external grants were successful
Please bring 3 PAPER COPIES of your one page draft to the meeting. Studies have shown that editing paper copies is the most effective method for improving writing. It also prevents any technological issues from getting in the way of our work. If you need any disability accommodation around reading someone else’s draft (larger font size, contrast, etc.) please indicate so on the registration form..
Refreshments provided.
