Our Collaborations

Collaborations

ADVANCE collaborates with many partners at the University of Michigan. Here are a few examples:

The Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, a collaboration with the Provost’s Office, has been very successful in recruiting diverse and excellent faculty to U-M following a mentored postdoctoral experience here. Nine new faculty have been hired via this program in just six years.

Our long-standing collaboration with the CRLT Players brings relevant theater sketches to the attention of faculty, for example to our Network to ADVANCE Women Scientists and Engineers.

We collaborate with LSA on a series of workshops for faculty that are open campus-wide. We also collaborated with LSA and the Institute for the Humanities to bring The Op-Ed Project to campus.

We collaborate with Launch in the Health Sciences to bring launch committees to new faculty in Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, and Kinesiology.

ADVANCE also collaborates with LSA on the NextProf: Science workshop, which provides an opportunity for faculty to meet, inspire, and advise underrepresented potential faculty from across the country, and ultimately attract some to U-M. This LSA workshop, patterned after a similar one in Engineering, has brought almost 200 potential faculty to campus.

ADVANCE’s Research and Evaluation arm collaborates with various units to evaluate programs. Two examples are the LSA Laptop Loan program, and the Rackham Bridge programs.
