Writing Research Grant Proposals in a Changing Funding Environment

The federal funding landscape has evolved. Obtaining research funding requires new strategies and renewed determination. This workshop outlines tactics for developing a grant proposal that is responsive to sponsor priorities and competitive in this environment. The presenter will focus on critical pre-proposal preparation, from assessing readiness to interpreting changing funder guidance to understanding the review process. The workshop also will address how to navigate uncertainty, including shifting priorities, increased competition, and emerging expectations for proposal framing, impact, collaboration and sustainability. Participants will examine key proposal components and common errors, with attention to best practices that result in clear, compelling and resilient proposals.
